Padre Dam is committed to delivering safe and reliable water and wastewater services to our customers. We want to reassure customers that COVID-19 has no impact on the District’s drinking water supply. Padre Dam staff are essential workers who are committed to providing customers with safe and reliable water that is both available and plentiful.
Padre Dam receives 100 percent of our drinking water supply from the San Diego County Water Authority’s water treatment plants. The final process of water treatment includes disinfection, which inactivates viruses, including the coronavirus. Water is tested throughout Padre Dam’s system on a daily basis to ensure it maintains consistent levels of the disinfectant chlorine. Our water meets all stringent state and federal drinking water requirements.
Padre Dam continues to monitor and follow local, state and federal advisories. We care deeply about the health of our customers, and advise you to follow all recommendations from the County of San Diego, the California Department of Health and the US Center for Disease Control.
