Industrial Code Compliance

Discharging of Industrial Waste

Any customer proposing to discharge industrial waste into a district sewer is required to obtain a Permit for Industrial Wastewater Discharge from the District. Padre Dam has an agreement with the City of San Diego for administering Industrial Waste Permits. Permit applications are processed by the City and are then routed through Padre Dam to the permittee. Monitoring services to check for compliance with permits may occur, and the District may require any industrial wastewater discharger to file periodic self-monitoring discharge reports.

No person shall discharge industrial wastewater in excess of the quantity or quality limitations set by the Permit for Industrial Wastewater Discharge. Anyone desiring to discharge wastes or use wastewater facilities that are not in conformance with terms of the Permit must apply to the District for an amendment to the permit.
