Engineering and Planning Department

The Engineering and Planning Department has five key focus areas: 

  • Capital Program Development and Implementation
  • Development Services
  • Field Engineering (Inspection)
  • Right-of-Way, Acquisition and Enforcement
  • Planning and Compliance

The department is organized into two divisions:

Planning and Design (CIP)
This division is responsible for the planning, design, and construction of Padre Dam's capital projects. This includes the implementation of the District's Master Plan (PDF) for planned growth and development of local water supply. The goal of this division is to manage capital projects efficiently to ensure District standards are achieved within budget.

Development Services and Inspection
This division is responsible for reviewing local development plans and assisting developers, engineers, and private property owners through the planning, approval, installation, and inspection of new water, sewer and recycled water facilities. Additionally, this division is also responsible for the mapping of District facilities and protecting the District's right-of-way.
