What Water Bill Pays For

Rate Approval

Padre Dam's Board of Directors approved the District's five year rate proposal for Fiscal Year 2018 to 2022. Staff presented on the need to maintain the District's infrastructure and the unique challenges the District has at the meeting.

The District cannot make a profit from the services it provides and only charges the actual costs associated with providing service to our customers. A Cost of Service Study, completed by an independent consultant, is the basis for the approved rates and charges.

Funding

Did you know? Public water agencies do not make a profit. Every dollar from a customer's water bill is invested back into the operation, maintenance and water delivery to help ensure reliable water.

Padre Dam works 365 days a year on behalf of our community to keep safe, high quality water flowing. When you pay your water bill you are doing more than just purchasing water, you are investing in projects and programs to meet the community's needs today and into the future.
